Madam De Villefort was out here poisoning EVERYONE throughout the course of The Count of Monte Cristo... and I'm here for it. Her cognitive dissonance and warped moral logic should be studied! As a childfree by choice author, I thought Madam De Villefort was a fascinatingly unhinged character to have ping-ponging around the in the pages of an already chaotic novel.

Assuming you said "HELL NO!" to the question in the title, let's proceed.

One of the most satisfying conclusions in the Count of Monte Cristo for me, was the confirmation that Madam De Villefort was behind all the poisionings. However, I wasn't expecting M. De Villefort to ultimatum her into ending it all. And I certainly wasn't expecting her to to take Edouard (her son) with her.
